Sad News About Sir Elton: The Reason Shared

In 2023, Sir Elton John claimed that he was done touring after his “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” tour which ended in July 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden. However, many fans have probably been wondering if the singer would really be able to say goodbye to touring forever.

Now, almost one year later, the answer is clear. Recently, John has reconfirmed that yes, he is not planning to tour ever again.

As per OK Magazine, John shared in a recent interview that going on tour is not something he’s even willing to consider.

It is because he wants to focus on his family which includes husband David Furnish and their children, 11-year-old Elijah and 13-year-old Zachary.

“We’ve got our sons, you know, they’re getting into their teenage years now. We don’t want to miss anything. We want to be present for that.”, Furnish said.

“It’s sort of a key decade, I think, in a child’s life.”, he continued.

Additionally, Furnish shared that John has been touring for decades, and it’s time for the 77-year-old to finally take a break. He explained, “He’s been doing it for 60 years, so it’s nice to have that time to spend at home with family.”

John added his own feelings about touring, sharing that he feels like he ended on a high note.

“The last show in Stockholm on the farewell tour after Glastonbury, I got in the car and went, ‘Yes! Yes!’ We went out on the biggest high, just the way I wanted to, and there’s no going back [after] that.”, he said.

During that final farewell concert, John thanked his fans as he said goodbye.
