Co-stars, fans, and other artists have banded together to pay respect to the late Grammy Award-winning country singer and actor Kris Kristofferson, who di:ed at the age of 88.
Kristofferson, who was well-known for his talents in both music and movies, di:ed quietly at home in Maui on Saturday, surrounded by family.
Barbra Streisand, who costarred with Kristofferson in the Oscar-winning 1976 adaptation of A Star Is Born, sent her profound sympathies on Instagram.
She wrote: “When I first saw Kris play at the Troubadour club in Los Angeles, I realized he was someone unique. Barefoot and strumming his guitar, he appeared like the ideal candidate for a story I was working on, which finally became A Star Is Born.”
Reba McEntire spoke on Kristofferson’s character, characterizing him as a “gentleman, kind soul, and a lover of words.” Many of those who loved his creativity and humanity shared this viewpoint.
Dolly Parton grieved the d3ath of her “great friend,” with whom she recorded hit duets including “From Here to the Moon and Back” and “Put It Off Until Tomorrow.”
