Trag.edy in Hollywood: Beloved Actress

A 95-year-old actress from Hollywood was found deceased in her residence in Los Angeles, which had been ravaged by the recent wildfires.

Dalyce Curry, a prominent figure in Hollywood, was sadly discovered dead in her home in Los Angeles after being overtaken by the catastrophic wildfires affecting the region.

On Sunday at approximately 6 p.m., the retired actress, celebrated for her memorable roles in films such as Lady Sings the Blues (1972), The Ten Commandments (1956), and The Blues Brothers (1980), was located in her Altadena residence in the northeastern part of Los Angeles.

Curry’s family reported her missing earlier when they were unable to locate her at an evacuation center. The esteemed actress had last been seen on Tuesday, coinciding with the onset of the Eaton Fire.

Dalyce Kelley, the granddaughter of Curry, shared the devastating news on Facebook late Sunday night, confirming that the search had concluded tragically with the discovery of her grandmother’s body in her residence. The loss has plunged her fans, family, and the entertainment community into mourning.

In her poignant Facebook message, Kelley expressed, “It is with profound sadness that I announce the end of our search for Momma D, as her remains have been located in her home.” She conveyed the family’s devastation, stating, “We are heartbroken, and it is hard to grasp how her life has come to such a tragic conclusion.”

Regarding the circumstances surrounding Dalyce Curry, Kelley recounted her last encounter with her grandmother, who had dropped her off at her Altadena home just after midnight on Tuesday. Unaware of the looming threat, Kelley left to care for her sibling who was fighting cancer, despite noticing the fire raging in the nearby mountains.

The following morning, a text message about a power outage at her grandmother’s house alarmed Kelley. Rushing back to check on her, she was met with the heartbreaking news from an officer: the fire had completely ravaged the property. Dalyce was missing, and Kelley was directed to the Pasadena Civic Center, where evacuees had been relocated.

As the police continued their search for Kelley and her family over the next five days, they clung to hope. Sadly, that hope was extinguished when authorities discovered Curry’s remains among the charred remains of her home. The untimely passing of Dalyce Curry has left a profound void in the hearts of her family and the entertainment industry, marking the loss of a beloved figure from Hollywood’s golden era.
