House Speaker Nancy Pelosi delivered a strong rebuttal to CNN’s Jake Tapper on Tuesday when he brought up former President Donald Trump’s latest comments about Vice President Kamala Harris.
During a rally in Savannah, Georgia, earlier that day, Trump had asserted that Harris suffers from “bigger cognitive problems” than President Joe Biden, intensifying his ongoing criticism of the Biden-Harris administration.
At the rally, Trump criticized the administration’s management of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, highlighting the deaths of 13 servicemembers and the military equipment left behind. However, it was his comments about Harris that dominated the news.
Trump claimed that Harris is facing greater cognitive challenges than Biden, who had faced scrutiny over his mental fitness before ending his 2024 campaign following their late June debate on CNN.
In his interview with Pelosi, Tapper read out Trump’s comments to gauge her reaction. The former House Speaker, however, did not appreciate the line of questioning.
